Just wanted to know how many people are running with out the spare tire to save weight and simplify things? I know that if you have a flat tire in the S2000, especially on the rear, that it is a pain in the but to remove the front and put the spare tire on it, then remove the rear and put the front on the rear and then try to get the rear tire into the trunk.

So I was wondering how many of you guys just have Triple A and have it towed, or carry a can of Fix-A-Flat. If you do carry a can of Fix-A-Flat, what is a good brand quality to carry, one that will actually work and can be counted on? I know allot of them don

Bad comparison. Cars that don't come with spares use run-flat tires or they come with tire repair goo and a pump.

I took my spare tire out because I only drive my S2000 for fun now that i have a daily driver in addition to the S2000. What I have set up in the case of a flat, I bought a set of slightly used OEM tires and went out and bought a set of black steelies for if i eer get a flat and for use on autocross so i dont kill my tires for regular street use. I would just throw one of them on if i ever did get a flat. On a side note though, I would suggest you dont use any sort of fix-a-flat since, at least in my area, and tire that is repaired that has had fix-a-flat in it is not guaranteed a lot of tire repair places wont even try and fix it for you. Could be different in your area, but in Alaska, thats how they roll here. I found out the hard way about that one a week or so after i got my liscence back in the day. If i didnt have the spare set of wheels i do have though, i would definatly keep it in my car.

What do you do if you get a flat in a place where those rims aren't?

 

I run without a flat and without tools. I didn't even bother putting back the wheel cover or tool cover. Trunk looks ghetto, but it's much bigger. Plus, the spare tire well is a perfect, no-slip spot for my work bag.

I keep a can of fix-a-flat in the trunk. Don't know if I'll ever use it because I know that some tire places refuse to repair a tire with that gunk in it.

Like OP said, getting a rear flat and trying to use the spare is just a huge PITA...and dangerous if done on the freeway.

Hope I never get a flat..but if I do, I'll probably get towed to a tire shop for repair/replacement.
