Just back from Elvington where myself, brian, tif and andy w all had the pleasure of a ride in this beast.

Its without doubt the fastest car I've ever been in, the acceleration is unbelievable, it forces you back into the seat and I thought at one point I was going to loose my helmet with the wind being generated.

Take a ride in this car and you really appreciate what a marvel this engine is, step back into the S2000 though and you can see why the weight kills the perfomance, in the nutter you get a real feeling of torque thats blunted in the S2000. Honda needs to loose 300 KG to make a truely awesome S2000 track car.

I didnt fare so well myself, I was the first car out and only managed 1/2 lap before I spun, next time I managed 3 laps before I finally learnt what the 'Snap' is, two further sessions followed with cooking brakes before I once again learnt just how poor a driver I am and how unforgiving the car can be, I went into a corner a little too fast and then like a fool braked mid corner which resulted in a further 360 this time collecting about 5 or 6 cones on the way. The cones have caused a few scratches on the front wing but hopefully they will come out with polish and T-cut.

I think I've managed to put Tif off ever taking his car to the track which is ashame because its great fun when you get it right, unfortunately those moments were few and far between for me today.

Now if only I could get my hands on one of those nutters, I could convert my 360's into 720's no problem!!!!

Not sure about pics, Brian took one of me with a grin like a cheshire cat when I'd just spun on the opening lap. Tif was videoing us from inside the car when we did the 360 into the cones, I dont know if he'll be able to post it, would be quite embarissing for me and I think the language would need editing

What a great day out, Nutter is scarily exhilarating, quite awesomely raw power

Andy W treated me us to a number of laps in the BaT Caterham - he can drive a bit by the way (like 118mph and flat through the top chicane at Elvington ) and this could be my future ride at the track especially going halves/thirds on the day with some other speed addicts??

Great respect to Jason for his candid account of the day - the last spin was a pretty big one coming down from 110 mph or so and resulted in a red flag - I've done a lot worse damage to my cars in the past just reversing out of the garage and it comes out fine with metallic T-Cut

I've got a number of pic's of the day and a lot of video footage - need to figure out how to get this compressed and hosted though...

Highlights for me were the hot laps with Jason in the S2000, watching a 928S2 and a Chimera going hell for leather for track position (2 V8s on song is pretty spine tingling) and of course the sheer visceral, primal experience that was Andy T showing me what the Nutter can do. A great day out

Chris,

Why not bring the tape down in May and I'll see if the hotel can lend us a TV and a VCR

If not I have one I can use

Thanks for the Nutter posts but remember it isn't finished yet.... much more chassis work and a final tuning session.

Good to meet you guys, hope to see you all soon.

Andy

P.S. Jason.... get back on the horse.... spinning is all part of the fun

Please keep us informed, I'd so love to have another ride in the beast...

Some pictures from Elvington. I'll capture some more off video when I have a minute - need to get my tea now

Roll on the next outing...

Andy T,

any ideas on the 0-60 for the nutter? from my ride in it I'm guessing somewhere between 3 and 4 secs.

One awesomely quick car.

We'll have to do the run up the airfield together next time but I think it would be a good 10-20 car lengths ahead of me at the end.

Thanks again for the ride it was a great experience.

Jason
