Default LED rear Turn Signal

Alright, I ordered two sets of LED bulbs for the rear turn signals.

superbrightleds.com 7443- 15-LED Design has 9 LEDs aiming out the end and 6 radially mounted:

autolumination.com 7440- 36 LED Bulb Design has 12 LEDs aiming out the end and 24 radially mounted:

You will need either a Load Resistor for each bulb, which gets expensive, or a Flasher which controls all turn signals, I went with the Flasher:

This is the Stock Flasher which is a bit smaller than the new LED Flasher:

Here is the Stock Flasher next to the new LED Flasher:

Here is what you'll need for the new flasher in order to fit in the fuse box since it's bigger:

Here's what it looks like, it's a snug fit so it will not fall out:

Halogen on the LEFT superbrightleds.com 15 LED on the RIGHT:

Damn ducks, don't mind them

I think the 15 LED from superbrightleds.com is brighter than the 36 LED from autolumination.com

I know the sflux LEDs are alot brighter than the regular 5 and 3 mm LEDs.

Here you can see them lined up totaling 8 high flux side facing LEDs and 8 forward facing regular LEDs:

I'll be trying these later in the future

BTW, the black spot under the bulbs are my strobes just incase anyone is wondering.

i really have no idea what the background on this comparison is, but it seems to me that the halogen bulb is brighter than both of the LED clusters?

ive tried this and really wanted LEDS for the whole car, but it just wasn't bright enough for me to consider safe. i dont understand why there isn't a freakin bright led bulb for sale already that is brighter than a puny halogen oem bulb.

nice write up, thnx

Ive answered many questions about this in the electronics section....What makes all the LED equipped cars so bright....is the lenses. The actual lense is made to properly refract LED light, so it intensifies. As you can see from the video, LED light is very linear...one bright dot, where as the halogen is bright all over. To get the real desired effect of LED lighting, you need proper lenses.

Just a quick question for you guys, I was wondering if we as "S" owners can get LED bulbs for our license plates. I noticed that the new Lexus IS and highend, have these light's shining on their license plates. It kind of looks like HID tint, but I think they are LEDs. Anybody?

I have LEDs in my dome lights, trunk light, and liscense plate light. The liscense plate lights I think are 192 type bulbs. Check what kind and then order the replacement but in LED. These LEDs are bright enough for the application.
