Post Dealer is giving me a new top!

I drove up to the dealership this morning and explained to the service rep that my top is wearing from the inside and has actually ripped through on the drivers side. He looked at it and said he would need to get his manager.
When the manager came out she said oh I have seen this before order him a new top.

I was like "WTF"!!!

They are going to call me in a couple of days to bring my car in to have the install done.

I am still in shock.

Maybe he's just "ordering" it for you but you'll end up paying for it?

Can you take some pictures of the wear? I might have the same thing and I would like to go to a Honda dealer and see what they say.

Soundguy, do you have an extended warrantee?

Ultimately, that's nice that your dealer went this way with you, especially if you're out of warrantee. It seems they have discretion with this kind of thing. After three years, I brought my car in to get my seat bolster replaced (the left thigh bolster had completely crushed down) and the top replaced. The bolster was treated as a defect, and the top was "good will" to replace a wear item. They covered both under the warrantee.

I wonder if it yours tore in the same place mine is wearing. I've got a wear spot that would be over my left shoulder when I'm sitting in the driver's seat. I took the car to Robertson's Palmdale Honda, and they would like to do a fix on it before it gets a hole or tear, and I need a new top. It's already documented since I've got 34,900 miles on my '05 now.
