I noticed it is a similar height to a OEM AP1 with front lip.
Is there any problems with scrapping when lowered 1"?

you will have plenty clearance with lowered 1 inch. just be careful on big dips, speedbumps, and driveways (go at an angle)

Yes, it comes with a black mesh grille, that is why my FMIC looks a little more subtle unless direct sunlight is hitting it.
