Default North Texas S2000 Top Replacement Info & Costs

Updated August 2021

Since 2002 I have installed a LOT of S2000 tops. With 20 years experience there's is a good chance that I have installed more S2000 tops than anyone else...I even install for Honda dealers! So, I thought I'd take a minute to put together some info for the community.

COST SUMMARY (All prices current as of June 2021)
*2000-2001 Robbins Vinyl Top Plastic Window w/ Install by Clovis ~$1,420 (upgrade to Canvas available)
*2000-2001 Robbins Vinyl Top Conversion to Glass Window w/ Install by Clovis ~$1,540 (upgrade to Canvas available)
*2002-2007 Robbins Vinyl Top Glass Window w/ Install by Clovis ~$1,640 (upgrade to Canvas available)
*2000-2009 OEM Honda Top w/ Install at Honda Dealer $3,500-$5,000+

TOP INFORMATION:
Following is pricing info for Robbins Auto Top Co. sold through Topsonline (Forum Sponsor). I have installed a number of these on customer cars and have been extremely happy with the fit, finish, and quality. I prefer both the quality and the price over OEM. They offer two materials: Twillweave vinyl (similar to OEM) and Stayfast canvas which is a nice upgrade over vinyl.

2000-01 Plastic Window
Robbins Vinyl Top $522 (Equivalent to OEM) w/ free shipping
Robbins Sun-Fast Canvas $597 w/ free shipping

2000-01 Glass Window w/ Conversion Kit
Robbins Vinyl Top $636 w/ free shipping
Robbins Sun-Fast Canvas $720 w/ free shipping

2002-2009 Glass Window
Robbins Vinyl Top $636 w/ free shipping
Robbins Sun-Fast Canvas $749 w/ free shipping

NOTE: Please contact Topsonline via phone and speak with either Vic or Seta. Tell them that you are on S2Ki and a customer of David. They will give you free shipping.

Colors: Available in Black, Dk Blue, Tan, Burgundy, Grey

INSTALL INFORMATION:
You can request me to do the install via this thread or PM, you can try on your own, or go to a Honda dealer.

Install by Clovis
If you are in or around the Dallas/Fort Worth or Austin area, and want to leverage my 20 years of experience, I would be happy to do the install work for you for much cheaper than your dealer. I designed the glass retro-fit kit used by Robbins and have installed many-many tops! There is a good chance that I have installed more S2000 tops than anyone else. Turn around is 1 day and I charge less than 1/2 of dealer installed cost.

NOTE: I do not install the EZ-On brand.

'02+ Standard Top Removal and Install: $900
'00-'01 Plastic-to-Glass Conversion Removal and Install: Add $100 to above standard price

Dealer/Shop Installed
Please be careful selecting your installer to make sure they have solid S2000 experience. I've repaired a bunch of tops that were incorrectly installed. FYI, your dealer may or may not perform glass top retro-fits. If you can find one who will, install costs will range from $1,800-$3,000+. The OEM soft top part varies from $1,600-2,000 depending on the dealer.

Self Installed
To do it on your own set aside 10+ hours for a standard replacement and 12+ hours for a glass top retro-fit. I have been asked by former first-time installers to warn you this job is tedious, frustrating, and not your typical "mechanical" install. I've had people that have rebuilt motors that were not be able to complete this install.

what is involved with retrofitting the glass top for an 01? do you have to replace the frame or can it be done with the original frame?

Clovis installed the glass-top on my car, the ratty looking silverstone in the first post, haha... I wish I had known about the bonus service of getting my headlight unfogged...

Top is great, looks 1000x better, and the car looks more modern now that it doesn't have a whack plastic window.

Install was great, Clovis was cool, I'd highly recommend him for the install.

My install was done almost a good year ago. It was quick and just as promised. Thanks again Clovis, everything is still in good working order.

P.S. Hope your new TV is treating you right.
