Default Ready to order the new Volk RE30's, ...

Ok, I'm pretty new to the boards, but have been lurking for a few weeks now. I puchased an 01 S2k from a fellow Houston member a few weeks ago. Since then, i've read as much as I could about proper wheel fitment, offsets, etc... and have narrowed down my choice to the 18x7.5 / 18x8.5 Volk RE30. My question goes to the offsets. Volk's chart shows two different offsets that would both fit (using the offset chart listing on this site), ...keep in mind I want to run the widest tire possible 225 (f) / 255

I would say that even with the 47mm offset you are probably going to have some rubbing with the 255/35R18 tires.

does that mean you feel confident about the fitment of the fronts (with either offset) on the 225's? As for the rear, ...would a slight fender rolling and/or bit of negative camber solev that problem? I know BFG tires run a bit wide, ...i've been using them for many years on all my vehicles. Any advice on what you would recommend?

Thanks!

Greg

roll the rear fenders so theres no lip and for the front just run more camber.

your PROGRESSIV ME are hotttt...

if it were ME, id run

8+44
9.5+47

i know how everyone has their offset calculators but once u understand offsets and tires... you know that offsets dont mean shit.
8.5+47 fits the same as 9.5+47, although the 8.5 will rub on a 255, whereas the 9.5 wont rub on a 255. (this is w/ rear fender rolled on both sizes), the front isnt the best... but Volk i known for shitty fronts. they only ever offer 7.5's with high offsets and 7.5 sucks because the thinnest 18" is 215/40 and even that runs square on the 7.5 and hits the front fender when u turn. they should have made a 8 or 8.5 with at least 55 or higher.

hopefully thats enough info for ya.

just saw your group buy link, ...so i'm assuming that the Greddy S2000 is running the +50 and +47 in the pic? Also, what size tires are you going with? same?

Thanks,
Greg

Thanks for the comment on the ME's, ...I could have gone to an 8.5 in the front, but went with an 8" to shorten the wait. Now i'm shooting myslef n the foot about it.

I don't want to make the same mistake on the S2k, and since I have to order special order the wheels anyway, ...well, you get the point.

Your sure about those sizes? tried them before? I wanna go big, but not extend outside the fender.

greg click my link and see what ive tried. lol i know offsets liek back of hand.

if your using the same size tire then u forget about width and only focus on offset

8.5+47 fits worse than 9.5+47 when using the same tire.

this is why my 8+35 255 tire rubbed whereas 10.5+35 didnt.
