Default Well Thank God I'm Still Alive

let me flashback to Thanksgiving of '04. 3/4 week old Red Mustang, slipped in the heavy rain going uphill, ended up going head-on with another car. Thank God, I walked out unharmed along with my friend.

Christmas, 2006, following heavy rains. 2 week old Red S2000, Heading home, I take a left onto main st. and my car goes haywire on me. Lets just say it was Thanksgiving '04 multiplied by 5. My car completly spun on me, sending my side (Driver's Door) staight into a light post. Honestly at that point, seeing myself sliding directly towards a light post, I thought life could very well be over. My shoulder was going straight into it, so it was my S2000 vs this damn light pole. This thing could have very well ripped my car in half. I dont know, shit happened so fast, but I saw my life flash before my eyes. So as my car climbs the curb, it completly demolishes the light post and keeps sliding through, onto the grass into the mud, inches away from a "No Tresspassing" sign on my passenger side door (with my cousin in it).

I checked myself, said a quick prayer and thanked God I was still alive. Got out, gave my cousin a half hug and checked if he was alright. My cousin behind me, who saw the whole thing from his car, came running up to us to check up, he was very shook up also.

I basically made one huge 'S'...I make that left, lost control, ended up going backwards (as if i was driving down the street in reverse), climb the curb, demolish the light pole, which sent me flying back in the right direction, and landed me in the mud inches away from a "No Tresspassing" sign...

Most importantly, no one was hurt. Now to look ahead, I'm praying the damages aren't too serious. I love this car so much, I admit I never wanted to take it out in the rain, but I had to, and I paid for that. Now I just pray to get my S2K back.

w00w~ good to know you're safe. Are you going to repair the car or get a new 1?

Also, maybe you're accelerating too much out of corners. Happened to me once, but the VSA in the 2006 saved me.

i'm glad you're alright man. rain sucks without traction control. if you don't mind me asking, was this a low speed spin out? I mean the light pole did fall over so it couldn't have been too slow right? guessing by the pictures, it looks as though the door didn't bend much if at all. was the inside of the door bent or mangled in any way? just curious.

Be careful. It's hard to blame the car if you're driving stock tires in the wet in DC.

A set of all-season or snows on 2nd hand OEM rims is a LOT cheaper than your insurance deductible and the cost your insurance is going to skyrocket.

Wow that pole is destroyed. Good thing you were alright though.

Seeing that you're 19 and you already had 2 accidents, I would seriously recommend you attend some autocrosses/track events as well as take some high-performance driving classes so you can learn how to properly control a car.

I would love to know how many S2000's have been crashed because of spinning or the back end getting away from the drivers.

I'm very glad you're ok!
