Default MY03 Silverstone listed for ~$19k with ~18k miles

Not sure if this is in the right category....

What's the most I should pay for a MY03 Silverstone listed at ~$19k with ~18k miles? Apparently it just got traded in from a lease...it is Honda certified but the warranty has expired. Keep in mind I'm in NJ so buying a vert in the winter = hopefully a great deal...

yea it must've been a weekend car...only one previous owner, but the owner was a woman, so i'm a little bit hesitant (hope i didn't offend any of the female owners here, but c'mon can you blame me?) that alone wouldn't deter me though. it's listed at $19k, so i'm sure i can talk them down a bit. i was looking at spending $18k at most, and would settle for ~30k miles...so we'll see how low they're willing to go...i'll be taking a looksee next week...wish me luck! also, what should i be looking for when i check it out (besides the obvious-leaks, OEM tires, dents, etc)?

at that price you might now have a week, someone else might scoop it up.

anyways, chances are the OEM so2's are gone, if they have replaced them with new s02's that is a plus, because they are NOT cheap, great tires...

also like every other used car you buy you should ALWAYS get it checked out by a 2rd party mechanic, dont Buy into that carfax BS, its very easy for a crashed car to not show up...

good luck!

Check if the diff fluid has been changed yet - if not there will still be a 'paint seal' on the filler or drain bolt. If not tell em the diff has been abused and you want lower price.

pretty good price I paid 20k for a 01 with 18k miles. But that was like 2 years ago. I would try to talk him down. You never know, he might go down more

yea i'll be checking it out tomorrow...i'm crossing my fingers. they said it was leased out of a Honda dealership, and that's where it was always serviced....and they had it inspected there before he listed it...so i'm gonna ask for a list of everything they checked and also if they have any of the service records....

they don't have a service dept since the company only leases new vehicles...so i'm gonna see if i can get it looked at by a Honda tech...i definitely wanna see the underside of the car. should be near perfect if it's a MY03 w/18k miles...

wish me luck! could possibly have an s2k before the end of the year... definitely not what i expected.

is there anything else i should check for besides the diff fluid??

i don't know if you can bump yourself, but...

bump for more advice on what else to check when i look at the car, and if he won't go down, is this such a good deal that i shouldn't pass it up? a MY03 w/18k miles seems pretty rare to me, and at the price he's asking for it's still about $5-6k less than what KBB calls for (for an "excellent" condition, which is what it seems like it's in, will find out for sure soon)
