Be safe, slow down
I'm sure most of you know or have at least heard, yesterday January 10, 3 kids were traveling home from highschool when the drivers caddy CTS ran into the side of a dodge caravan bursting into flames. All 3 teenagers (17,17, and 16) were killed and the 60 something year old grandmother of 11 and mother of 4, I believe, was also killed. There was one survivor which was a disabled (as far as I know) 13 yeard old being transported home.
Although the police havn't said anything, a few of my friends have been telling me that through eye witnesses the CTS was doing near 80mph (its a 50mph zone) and was possibly street racing another car when it, obiously, lost control, skidded across the 4 lane highway, and hit the caravan's front fender and door. After the scene was cleaned up about 6 hours later, I went to it (its only 5 min away from my house) to look around and see what happened. Since I work for an investigative engineering firm specializing in accidents, I can confirm what I said earlier was true (expect for the racing another car).
The accident happend at my highschool that I graduated from 2 years ago. Although I did not personally know the 3 kids, I could recognize their faces when they showed them on the news.
Point of the matter is, this struck way to close to home. The whole town is devistated.
For more info, nbc has be doing a pretty good job covering the tragedy:

For the love of god, think twice before you do something so stupid. May their souls rest in peace.
Be safe and be thankful to be alive

Too many of these idiots who think they can drive at a high rate of speed and not cause serious injury or death. I couldnt live with the fact that I killed someone due to stupidity. I did some dumb things when I was younger but now I look back and thank God I didnt hurt anyone or myself.
