Some facts about the leather we're using
I'm packing console covers, the World Series is about to come on (lifelong Yankee fan here, even though I grew up in Philadelphia!) and I need a break.
Had a long conversation with the CEO of Townsend Leather (Terry is his name) and learned a few more things about the leather they're making our goodies from. In a word, it's the best money can buy.
It's analine dyed, which means the color goes all the way through the leather. So if you scratch it, you won't see brown leather underneath the skin.
Terry told me the famed Connally hides used in Jaguars are actually second grade skins from Argentina. The hides we're using for the shift boots and console covers are far superior to the Connally stuff.
Our hides come from German cows. Evidently the steer men in Germany wash down the animals every night, thus keeping the hides clean and damage free. And the animals are not allowed to age to the point where the hides get dry and wrinkly.
Hope no animal rights folks are reading this.
Anyway, with that diversion it's back to packing console covers.
By the way, the red covers are stunning and the perforated versions very smart. I can't wait to see pictures of them installed, especially since I can't make up my own mind about what to put on my own car.

Rick,
since you mentioned the cows are German... can you check with Terry... if he can get some of the meat for us thats under the skins.... Nothing like younger, not old and wrinkly Rib eyes
plus they wont need dyed, the bbq grill will do that.....
second.... what about a black, red, with different options stitching leather coat to match the products you had created? Especially if there made from the same Bavarian cow
3rd... leather gloves...same as above
just a thought

Rick, I hope Mr. Honda is not spinning in his cremation urn, knowing that German leather is invading a Japanese product. I'm sure we all appreciate the fact that you picked a primo-quality co. to do the work; not only do they pick excellent materials, but their craftsmanship is of the first rank. I hope my cover will be shipping soon. I already practiced tonight taking off the console part.
On a somewhat related note...have you guys ever eaten Japanese beef? I've never had it, but man it's unbelievably expensive! The cows get massages everyday, listen to music, and are given beer to drink! I believe the price of this stuff was about 100 bucks for 6 very thin slices.

Jay, you read my mind. I was just going to post that. They are from Kobe, Japan. Kobe beef is the very expensive dish you are describing.
If someone had Kobe leather in their car, now that would be impressive. lol. That would be some expensive leather, can someone say $500 shift boot. lol.
