Default WTD '07 -- Detroit Area Caravan?

This caravan will be leaving the Detroit area no later than 7 PM sharp (on Thursday the 12th) and will be coming down I-75. The meeting place will be Nello's Diner at the south east corner of Lincoln Ave (a/k/a 10 1/2 mile) and Woodward Ave in Royal Oak. We will meet at approximately 6 p.m., grab a bite to eat at Nello's and be off.

If there is interest, we will make a quick stop in Toledo, OH at 8:00 p.m. to pick up others??

I will have detailed copies of maps and contact information for individuals in this caravan to pass out at Nello's just in case any one individual gets broken off from the group on the way to Cincinnati.

Also, if anyone just wants to meet up to eat and is not attending WTD '07, feel free to come out for a 'mini meet' at or before 6 p.m. (I'll start a separate list below).

Caravan #2 List
1. Kamron
2. Tachus
3. TYM2FLY

Mini meet only list:

Don't know what my plans are - haven't registered for WTD yet, because a) my navigator is taking his contractor's license test that weekend and b) I may have moved to CA by then

I'm really surprised to find ourselves saying this. Yes, we are planning on going to WTD, a good way to start the year. Which hotels are you planning to stay at in Cinn. and at the Dragon? I'm sure we need to book this week to get a room. Last time we were down there we managed to get into the lodge (name escapes me right now but I'll find it) on the N. Carolina side just at the end of the dragon, not the bikers place.

We have just registered and booked ourselves into the Fontana Village Resort. We have booked a room in the hotel (main building)

Haven't booked the hotel in Cinci., wondering which one.

Excellent, glad there's at least one other Michigander registered! I'm anxious regarding the Cincy hotel also. From what's been posted it looks like people stayed at the Extended Stay America - Blue Ash North in the past and may do so again. That's fine with me. A room runs $34.99 per night with DERF's promo code (above) if you go through their website. I checked hotels.com and orbitz.com, and that seems like a pretty good deal. That would be fine with me. The only thing I'm wondering is if we're organized, and there is enough of us staying at one place, then we just might call them and arrange for a group discount on rooms beyond that (maybe not)?? I was just going to wait for our CO, Luder94, to post details on what the Chi-town folk are doing, and/or wait for some more people to commit to the plan.

In any event, it probably doesn't matter too much where we stay in Cincy (at least to me). It's about 4 1/4 hours from here to there by mapquest; so, I'm guessing we'll arrive in Cincy at about 11 p.m. if we leave after grabbing dinner as I suggested. The people from Chicago have about 1/2 longer drive, but I imagine they'll probably get there about the same time (especially if they're just planning a quick stop at Wendy's). As Looter indicated above, he's already organized the Ohio people to caravan down to WTD from Hooters in Cincy beginning at 9:00 a.m. Here's the link to Looter's caravan thread. There's already at least 16 Ohio cars on that list, plus us, plus whoever joins from Chicago, etc.. I would guess that some people may want to get there rest on Thursday night so that they are fresh for the 9 AM caravan; so, I don't know if they'll be a whole lot going on Thursday night in Cincy anyway. That being said, I would like to introduce myself to the Chicago people if the opportunity arises Thursday night.

I'm looking forward to this trip!

Okay guys, I saw your post and I just booked my room at Extended Stay America - Blue Ash North also. FYI, mine was 34.99, but I only put in one adult, so maybe that accounted for the difference??? Lookin' forward to it. Not to be too much of a post but I'll post in the other forums that there will be at least a couple of S's there thursday night! Can't wait!
