Use a paperclip or jumper wire in place of the PGM Tester. Jump Pins 4 and 9 on the DLC. Like they show here http://www.k-series.com/tech_detail.php?Tech_ID=CEL
PIN 9 is the SCS wire and PIN 4 is the Chasis Ground. Follow the directions as normal from that point on.

I have done it a few times on my S with a paperclip. Worked like a champ.

Can you please describe what if feels like to need the reset procedure?
My situation is as follows:
I recently had some suspension work done and afterwards the steering wheel was just a bit off center, to the left. I also noticed that the steering had a notchy feel at initial turn to the right, kinda where it used to be centered, but is otherwise smooth. I had it aligned (not at dealer) and now the wheel is straight, but I still have that notchy feel rigth at initial turn to the right.
Does this sound like I need EPS reset?

Also, it doesn't seem like the simple SCS jump works for EPS reset on '06 model.
The '06 shop manual inserts and extra step that says the PGM tester must be communicating for '06 model.
When trying the jumper-wire version of reset procedure on my '06, I can tell the SCS is jumped as other dashboard lights come on and flash differently than w/ just key to ON(II). However, the EPS light will not turn off after any duration.
The EPS light only turns off after car is started - which I didn't try with SCS jumped (don't know if that could be bad, and instructions never say to start the vehicle/engine).
Shoot. Looks like a trip to the dealer is needed for this simple reset on '06.
