Some pics of my new lighter S
Gutted the trunk and took out the passenger seat, no more stock air box, heavy exhaust is out the door too. Also, cf hood. Next to go: radio and A/C. After that, Spoon dry carbon coupe top, lighter wheels.

It's not becoming specifically a track car, but yes I will be tracking it. My gf is too scared to ride w/me, and when I go out with my friends we always take their cars anyways. I've used the passenger seat maybe 3 times since I bought the car. I figured it was one of the quickest and easiest ways to cut down on weight. Trunk carpet will probably go along with the radio on my next day off.

I haven't had a chance to get all the stuff on a scale, but the list of what I took out will give you an idea. A spare tire, jack, lug wrench, a few other misc tools, the plastic tool organizer, the seat and seat rails, stock airbox replaced with K&N typhoon, stock exhaust replaced with SS 3" custom single. Overall, the car is at least 100 pounds lighter than stock. Once the radio, trunk carpet, and A/C are out the car will be 200 pounds lighter than stock. Once I'm done taking stuff out, then I'm going to start the process of replacing the soft top/motor, lightweight battery, lighter wheels and brakes etc.
A common misconception about carbon hoods is that there lighter then stock, 90% of the hoods out there are the same weight or actually heavier then the aluminum hood. I beleive only the top jdm companies dry carbon hoods are lighter then OEM, and thats only by a couple pounds.
