First Annual WhrDLMI BBQ in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia

Okay, guys and gals... It's official! I'll be hosting what I hope to be the first in a looooooong line of BBQ's at my place in Harpers Ferry.

This is going to be a very informal come as you are deal. I'll open the doors at 11:00 a.m. and y'all can come and go as ya please. All are welcome! I am prepared to host a ton of folks! But a small turnout is okay, too!

Here is a link to a set of local directions for those of you using 340 from the north (Hagerstown, Baltimore, & 70/270) and from the south (Fredericksburg, Berryvile, Winchester).

All of these directions are approximate and are for generic locations. The only set that I will guarantee are spot on are the Local sets that I made myself. The rest came from Microsoft...

Here is a list of local hotels. On that map, my house is just about where it says "Mountain Mission" near the lower right corner. Charles Town proper (and most of those places) are 10 to 15 minutes from my home. EDIT: I just noticed that the Holiday Inn (F) is NOT where this map says it is. It is actually closer to the Northgate Inn (E).

I got the food (bugers, hot dogs, pasta salad, chicken, you name it!) and some basic drinks (soda, water, raspberry tea (), etc). You want beer? Bring it! I'll definitely help you drink it.

Here is where I start to beg for food. Like I have said before, I got the big stuff but I could really use a hand with chips, sides, and sodas. I have already asked a few folks to bring this sort of stuff, but here is my general plea. No need to make a list of who is bringing what (maybe I'll get some left over out of the deal ). Anywho... Please bring what you can. Thanks!

It would also be appreciated if anyone who has an EZ-UP could bring it. Camp chairs will also be GREATLY appreciated. I have about 24 chairs on hand already but that won't be enough to seat everyone so, please, bring what you can. Thanks!

If by horrible circumstance the weather does not cooperate, I'll keep the following Saturday clear on my calendar. This, though, is just a backup plan in case it is REALLY bad on the 28th. That is to say... This is pretty much a "R@!n or Shine" (pray for Shine) event.

Feel free to post any suggestions on what to do (very mini mod day, drive, sit on your arse and bs all day?) while y'all are here. Remember, Lawn Darts don't kill, people do!

I forgot to add that it takes approximatley 1-1/2 hours to get to HF from B-More... How did I forget my northern brothers?!?!?!

I'll put together a grocery list when I get a better feel for turn-out. I'll let you know what I need when I know what I need.

Yea... There are several hotels in the area because of the Charles Town Races and Slots. I'll do a little research and post something up later...
