Default Stock AP2 vs. Twin Turbo G35

So after a fairly decent canyon run with two of my buddies, 99 Miata and 2003 G35 6mt., I finally had the balls to try and run my friend's T/T g35. He has an APS twin turbo kit, intake plenum, Injen 2.5 dual exhaust (he's saving for a 3inch exhaust), test pipe, 19 RH Evolution R5 Pro wheels, aquamist, oil cooler, short shifter, turboxs utec, an amp and subs in his trunk (extra weight), and that's all I can recall. He's on g35driver. His sn is mylilblackg or something like that. He was running on low boost for the first 2 runs, don't recall how many psi, but he said he was around 383 rwhp. We were on the 405N near Irvine Spectrum. Both of us didn't have passengers and all runs were started at 60mph. I was at the very beginning of vtec in 3rd but he wasn't at full boost, probably to give me a friggin' chance. 1st run: 3 honks and we were off. I was able to pull very slightly, and I do mean SLIGHTLY, but by the end of 3rd he was already about 1.5-2 cars ahead of me and still pulling hard. Redline comes up and I punch it into 4th. He's about 4.5-5 cars ahead of me at this point. Then 4th gear runs out and I punch it into 5th and I friggin' misshift . So we try it again, but this time I catch 5th, but unfortunately guess what happens? Stupid CDV cause 5th to slip. We shut down around 107ish and hes I don't know how many cars ahead of me. So then he asks if I want to run him at full boost, I don't remember how much psi that is, but last time I checked he was 410+rwhp. So yeah, I won't get into that much detail because it's similar to the previous runs, just a bigger gap in between us. If he had started at full boost, I would've gotten owned more on all runs. Well thanks for reading. Hopefully my post wasn't too bad. Take it easy all.

are you boosted or anything? Since you didn't mention it then I will assume not. I didn't think the CDV would come into play at that speed. I was under the impression that the CDV's purpose was to delay clutch engagment in a standing start situation to protect the rest of the drive train parts down the line of the clutch. Maybe I'm wrong, anyway good runs. I bet his G35 is one kickass ride

Yeah I didn't get into gear all the way. My car is totally stock, and yes his car is a badass ride. He let me drive it once....I never felt soooo much power in my life. As for the CDV...I'm not sure how it totally works, but when I shifted into 5th, the rpms stayed the same for a sec or so, and then they started falling slightly and then they picked up a sec later.

the CDV effects shifts too. It'll feel like your just riding your clutch.

i think that happened bc either A) you hit the gas too soon bc the clutch wasnt out enough or B) you pushed the clutch in too soon, while you were still on the gas. i dont think that has anything to do with CDV

Eh, who knows. I knew I wasn't going to win the races. I just wanted to see how much I would lose by. Just kinda wonder how far we would've gone if 5th gear didn't slip. Eh, maybe next time...

I've heard the VQ35 doesn't withstand boost well and FI can cause it to blow after some time. True?

supposedly they cant take much more than 400whp without a serious drop in reliablity. Great cars none the less, but i would have expected more from a 3.5L v6....

Hence the reason i went with the S2000 instead of the VQ brothers.
