Koni says their shocks are stiffer in rebound but softer in compression than the contemporary S2000 shocks. I haven't put them on a dyno to compare, nor do I know how they compare to the shocks on more recent S2000 model years.

I just took delivery of, and had installed, a set of custom-valved Koni singles put on my 2004 S2000. I had these valved specifically for autocross use.

I've driven on them a grand total of about 40 miles on fairly smooth highway. So far, the ride quality seems completely unaffected. The real story will come out this Sunday, my first autocross in the car with the shocks and a proper alignment.

There seems to be three camps - stock, OTS Koni, and exotica like Motons and Ohlins. My plan is for the revalved Koni sports to strike a happy medium in between, without costing me thousands of dollars in so doing.

Depends entirely on what you want/need.

IMO, statements like "Koni all the way!" are not exactly helpful.

Study the different phases of dynamic cornering and the weight transfer between the shocks during those phases.

Then decide where you want to give and where you want to take. i.e. In what phase will you sacrifice rotation to gain stability in another? etc. etc. etc.

Please keep us updated on your thoughts...

how are your custom koni's different from the non-custom koni's?

what does the re-valving do, and how much does it cost compared to non-custom koni's?
