Default New High Speed Record...169 MPH!!!

I'm going to admit, this is the dumbest/most dangerous thing I have ever done in my whole life. I will never do it again, and I don't recomend it to anyone. But, I was there, so close, and couldn't stop until I chickened out, or hit a physical limit...or wrecked. Praise God that it was one of the first two. Please don't lecture me, I already accept/admit that this was not a good idea.

I redlined 6th gear at 169 MPH. I kid you not! If I had held it, let the rev limiter blink a little more I think I would have hit 170 MPH. I started in 4th gear at about 60 entering the highway, it was almost 1:00 AM. No cars in front of me, just one Houstook behind me...and I just floored it, held on...shifted...110...120...130...140...145...150.. .flying...155 (new personal record)...160....163......165...scared... (surely it's gonna stop)...168...169...noticed the rev limiter flashingt and I let off. My heart is beating so fast. Some people may not believe this, but anyone who knows me knows I would never make something like this up. It was crazy...I will never do that again, but I'm somewhat glad I did...at least it's in my past and I'm home safe. I'm gonna go hug my dog now.

Don't know whether to say congratulations or not!

Just for comparison, when I was bone stock (no CAI), I hit 158, and the car just wouldn't go anymore. It actually took a whole 5-10 seconds between 157 and 158 mph. I can't imagine what 169 would be like in a s2000...

It was really scary then, so I'm sure it was even worse for you. I remember the car feeling surprisingly stable, just extremely loud.

I took mine 157 and it was still climbing.. I let off because the car started to bounce, felt like it was hovering. I'm sure it would of hit 160 but the car was not feeling to stable at all. My brother in his h22a powered accord was behind me and he wrapped his speedo past 140.

my s2k had about 1300 miles and bone stock.

whats the fastest you all have taken it with the top down? I got to 145

Top down... around 145. I have not done a top speed run persay. Just every once in a while an energetic tune comes on the radio or cdplayer and automatically downshifts my car and takes off...

Man, you got guts. It's people like you that push the S2000 and renew or greaten the love and awarness others have for the S2000. Now I must say-we Canadians are f*cking insain! Turbo dave-177mph on a straight in Montreal...and oh yeah theres a video. Most everyone has probably seen it. Just the sound when he flys past the big rigs like there standing still.. Its scary when your infront of your computer. I think he's still alive to! Crazy French Candians.
