Default You want belive this

I was so bored last night that I hopped in my car for a late night top down drive...

Well after an hour or so I was getting on the freeway to come home and at the light I look over and see this eclipse next to me.......just as I decide to give it a go, I notice he has the donut spare tire on the front.......so in my mind I go....oh well no race tonight...........

The light turns green and I hear the most high pitched ear splitting tire screech coming from that donut........I just turned and got on my onramp.

later as I got close to my exit I noticed some HID's in my rearview, I think it was an Altima, he shot passed me and never looked back. Does this sound right, did my top down make that much of a difference, I do know he had a head of steam when he passed me.

depends on whether or not the altime was a v6. those 3.5 engines are no slouches despite being in a sedan. i am not sure what they run 1/4 mile wise but i had trouble keeping up with one last year.

They run a 14 flat in the 1/4 with a good driver, and with some mods it would be a dead even race with a stock S. Keep the top up next time and it won't be such a close race

once you redlined 4th and got into 5th, youre RPMs shouldve went back down to about 6.5k, which wouldve already been in VTec. once you hit VTec in first gear, and you continue to floor it all the way through all 6 gears, you should never be out of VTec again. either way, the Altimas are pretty fast cars but arent quicker than a s2k, even with the top down. im assuming he had too much of a head start for you to catch up bc of the mph difference. also, having the top down would make maybe a car difference, and only at speeds of 100+ IMHO

I think I got into 4th , by that time he was gaining momentum and just shot right by....

he may have let off when I was in 5th since he was ahead and hit the traffic before I did

I pulled a couple cars (2 maybe?) on an Altima SE-R in a 100% stock S2000 with top town and a heavy passanger from ~75 to 120.

Your S2K should take the Altima (SE-R or not) from a dig... and on a roll I think on average the S2K will still win unless the SE-R driver is REALLY good.

Do not underestimate a full head of steam if he already was going that much faster than you when he passed you. If it was a race in more even conditions you would take him.
