Hi all,

I'm new to the forum but have had my S a couple of years now and the power socket has worked itself loose. Does anybody know how I can get at the bolt on the back to stop it rattling around?

Stripping down the trim is the only way really....

 

Mines been rattling around for weeks now and is really getting on my bits.

Did think of squirting some no more nails in there but that's a bit savage.

 

you do have to remove a lot of the trim behind the seats then remove all the screws along the center console, but it does give enough access to get you hand in the back to re-tighten the socket

 

Mine is the same.

Not sure I can be arsed stripping down the trim, so was thinking of some blu-tak as an interim solution.

I checked mine after reading this, and mine is loose too. Can move it in and out about half a cm?

I'm not sure I can be bothered stripping out all the trim to stop the rattle. It's only really annoying on very bumpy roads anyway.

 

Mine came that loose it came out!

It was easy to sort, just remove the panel behind one of the seats and then you can get your hand down to where the socket is, just tighten the bugger back up and it'll be right for ages

I'm not taking responsibilty for scared hands/knuckles

Well my lazyiness in sorting has bit me. I pulled out the sat nat plug last night and the power socket came out with it.

Ooops. Looks like i need to graze some knuckles
