I believe that it will work but you will lose the 9k redline. I believe that you will also need to report the swap to the DMV so that there are no rollback issues.

Yes and No.

Fit, yes it will bolt right in. Now wiring is the tricky part. The harnesses are differant and have differant connectors. You can either swap the harnesses (big job, like pull the dash out) or cut and transplant the 04 sockets on the earlier harness.

it's a part of the odo unit, so it will just keep on counting itself once it's plug in

Why? Seems like a lot of work to me, but if you will like it, go for it. Keep us informed of your progress and take lots of pics. This could become a 'How to...' for the site.

the only guage cluster swapping that makes a lot of sense to me is this.

if you are an AP2 owner, and are running an after market ECU, like something from J's, Amuse, etc. with a higher rev limit, etc.

then getting a JDM AP2 cluster, with 9k redline, 04-05 model i believe, would make sense, other than that . . .

A japanese ap2 dash swapped into an american ap1 makes some sense too. You gain a clock as well as more fidelity in the temp and fuel gauges.
