Default Anyone managed to Homolocate their car to the UK?

I spoke to Honda UK this morning with respect to getting my import S2000 properly registered in the UK. They are sending me out a Homolocation pack, just wondering if anyone else has managed to complete this process, and how easy was it?

Ooooo-errrrrrrr

I have done this, but I was unaware it was called Homolocation!!!

If this is what I think it is (i.e. getting the car registered with Honda Uk, primarily to ensure the 3 yr, 60000 mile warranty is in place) I did it at my local friendly Honda dealer (and give I had imported the car from France rather than buying it from them, they where extremely friendly )

They will require details of your 'bill of sale', registration documnet (log book - why the hell is it called a 'log book' when it is just a big piece of paper????) and the car service book (they will need the VIN. All quite painless.

However, as you got your car from Hondas (NickE) I thought all of this was taken car off?? Have you checked with Honda UK?

Hi,

I've just done mine last week, couldn't have been easier.

I took the following to the honda dealership (Fleet Honda)

Service book filled out in my name, with PDI stamp
Original Invoice from the Honda dealership in belgium
Registration document
Certificate of conformity.

They took copies of all of them, and then they do the rest...Simple.

Cheers

Mark.

PS thought I should get it done before I need my new wheels and clutch.

I just spoke to my local Honda dealer (Francis Honda, Mountsorrel, Leics) about this this week. They said they would be very happy to help me out. I apologised for not buying the car from them, they understood why, and went on to explain that they make more money out of after sales service (services, warrnty work, accessories) than they did from the orignal sale anyway. This may be why your dealers were so friendly.

Isn't the word "homologate"?

Because, once upon a time in the dim and distant past, it was a multi-page document (i.e. a book) containing data about the car and its owner (i.e. a log)
