I was looking at disc prices the other day and came up with the following prices for 2xfront and 2xrear:

brakes international (Generic brake disc)

 

Go with the genuine honda bits..Thats a bargain for four oem discs.Honda dealers want

 

There's no significant difference between oem honda, brakes int bremtech discs and ebc plains. The are visually indestiguishable from each other and there will be no performance benefit from any of them.

You won't notice any braking improvement from the turbo grooves either unless you have glazing problems with your pads.

 

Go Honda they are the best, or you could buy my BBK....

 

The brakes int ones get rusty very quick it seems. The centre part was rusty after only 2 weeks due to the rain.

 

I doubt you'll get a unanimous verdict on here, each to their own and at the end of the day you pays your money and you take your choice. It's a bit like asking "What colour car should I buy".

For me personally I ended up with EBC Turbogroove, Ferodo DS2500 pads (which do generally get a ), braided hoses (NBM Woolford) and Millers Racing brake fluid, all from BalanceMotorsport: http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk

Julian there is a top guy and always willing to give advice if you give him a call, mention the forum he might give you a discount.

My setup worked well at Rockingham (a circuit that's hard on the brakes), although being a track-day newbie I probably wasn't being that aggressive. However, personally I'm happy with the setup and will probably stick with it for Donington.

Dembo recently cracked an EBC Turbogroove at Angelsey (but he'd given them some welly over a period of time), but I think he still bought another set.

Thanks, jq. I'm quite happy with the OEM brake set-up. I'm not looking to upgrade the discs, just don't want to get cheap ones that would be a false economy i.e. cheap and rubbish not cheap and good value.

 

Has anyone had any experience with the mugen discs and pads?

My spoon discs have just cracked so am wanted to avoid drilled discs as these have only lasted 8000miles!
