Top down the entire drive. Rain or shine. Here are a few tips, tricks and things I learned. Finally made it.
1. Invidia doesn't bother you after a while. You have to get used to gas station attendants and hotel personnel asking you to quit yelling at them though.
2. The seats did not hurt my back at all. Not one bit.
3. High altitude and Low grade (read 90 octane) gas make for a very unpleasnt drive through the mountains.
4. ES 100 Yoke's are like gummy bears in Las Vegas heat. I was the burnout king just trying to get to Denny's.
5. My 5100 plus mile trek consumed no less than 4 quarts of mobil 1.
6. Sirius Radio does indeed kick ass.
7. No one lives in Utah. No one.
8. It's cold in Colorado, even in July.
9. I saw only six S's the entire drive. And three of them were in Vegas within minutes of each other.
10. You can drive across country with a known bad axle. Little scary in the mountains.
11. If you put an AP2 front bumper on an AP1. Make sure you buy the fender liners to go with it. Zip ties don't hold at 100mph. Last I saw mine, it was wrapped around the front of a minivan after my front wheel ripped it off at speed.
12. If you have wheel locks. Don't leave the key in the state behind you.
13. Honda Dealers in Iowa don't know what an S2000 is.
14. Koyo Radiator came into it's own through the desert. I passed many, many overheated cars, and I had the top down the whole time.
15. Maui Jim's are your friend.
16. 80gb Ipod is not enough.
17. If your front fender liner indeed comes off, fix immediately. It will I repeat, will allow your tire to rip all of the wires apart to your headlight.
I'll add more as they come to me......here are some cell phone pics for the hell of it.
I don't know what you're talking about in Colorado, its effin HOT in July! I was born and raised in Florida but man I lived in Boulder for 4 years and I swear their summers are just as bad as ours.. just drier, with more hippies!
