Default 5'' Visor Screens (& other audio upgrades)

When i had my kenwood Excelon double din in my rsx, i couldn't go without having a screen in the s2k, yet i was very hesitant to the idea of cutting up my brand new dash to install the HU. So i came to this solution: I sold the HU and ended up buying the KD-NX5000 w/ nav, re-wrapped my visors to fit two 5'' Farenheit monitors, and added a JL 13W3v3 for bump that the stock speakers failed to produce.

The Visor monitors were a pain in the a$$ to fit in the tiny stock visors, not to mention i had to go through 7 screens before i got two that were in perfect working condition (manufacturer sent a bad batch) . The system is working great now and doesn't hinder my view from driving that much (i'm about 5'7). It's definately non-stop attention, especially when the top is down. The JVC nav is pretty good as well, but it is sort of a nuisance to have to peer down at the small 3'' screen instead of looking at the 5'' screen in front of my face (JVC says there is absolutely no way to feed the nav to the monitors, and that they don't yet make a unit with a Nav-out option. )

The only complaint i have about the whole setup is that the stock speaker are horrible, and that my tray for the soft top rattles so much that it definately screws up the music. I plan on dynamating the inside and outside of the tray, and purchasing some new MBQuartz.

Does anyone know if there is a company that makes replacements for the four rollbar speakers in the ap2s, any are there ever any group buys on dynamat? I'd really appreciate the info, enjoy the pictures

INCLUDES:
JVC KD-NX5000 w/ nav, Sirius, & ipod
2 Farenheit 5'' visor monitors
JL 13W3v3 in custom fiberglass/CF box
Rockford Fosgate 400/2 amp w/ hidden direct bass knob

I guess its only fitting that i reply first LOL

Sick setup man...and great choice on color for your S2K

Who did the install on your headunit? Id be interested in something similar if it can do XM radio.

The visor screens look nice too although at 6'3" i dont think i could see under them LOLOL! They are sick tho!

Final question (hopefully) what type of radar detector is that and is it hard-wired or is the cable just hidden?

Cool looking car...i hope to see it in person sometime soon.

Keep it up!

I have all of my installs done by the guys down at Sound of Tristate in Claymont DE, ask for Jim....The HU is a JVC KD-NX5000 which had to be special ordered (It's a little pricier than the model without nav) & i'm not certain if it can do XM but in my opinion sirius is mo betta'. The Radar detector is a passport X50 which i've had for awhile now and it's hardwired, notice the Hidden smartcord in the upper left corner of the HU picture

I didn't realize you were rockin Laguna as well, congratulations on having great taste lol

This question is for both...on the first pic what kind of visors are those?
On the second set up that you need to reupholster, what kind of monitors are those brand, size?

my visors are stock also. the monitors are the exact thickness of the visors, so they fit perfect.

i have an aux source on my tuner that i had my laptop attached to.
