Please pardon the long read, but every car has a story...
A little background...
I am the second owner of this S2000. It was bought at Carmax in White Marsh, Maryland in June of 2005 with 4,454 miles on the odometer. It was in absolutely pristine condition and was driven 1,500 miles per year by the previous owner. It hadn't even been to it's first oil change when I picked it up. It was my first car out of college and I was pretty excited
I was fortunate enough to be a competition Formula SAE driver in college and this car was the only thing that came remotely close to delivering the same sort of experience. High strung motor, nimble handiling, open air experience, light controls, dream-like shifter, I was sold.
"Early Enhancements"
The first change I made was to add an HKS Hi-Power Dual exhaust. I had read nothing but good things about the system and frankly, the exhaust has more than lived up to the expectations.
After 6 or 7 months I decided to throw on a test pipe, mainly seeking to reduce drone and add a bit of snarl. Again, the test pipe lived up to the hype and my goodness did it sound good.
Having been bitten by the autocross bug at an early age, I began to run my car in A stock in the Blue Ridge Region of SCCA. LOTS of fun beating Porsche Boxster S's, 350Zs, RX8s, and much more capable cars when I was lucky enough to borrow a set of R Comps.
It was at that time that I bought a CG Lock for the driver side. Perfect accessory for a weekend autocrosser as it reducing the sliding and shifting that may occur to the driving position under high load transient situations. Also installed Modifry's shift beeper to minimize the need to look at the tach.
Forced Induction???
Comptech's SC always fascinated me and I almost bought one on numerous occasions in 2005 and 2006. During that time, InlinePRO begain their rise to "Turbo S2000 Supremacy" and I spoke with John Lee a few times to gain information and even visited the shop for a few test drives.
It sure seemed like a lot of money at the time but after riding in Johns personal car, I had to have one. I saved money and worked it all out financially for months and come February 2007, I took the plunge with the car showing a tick over 32,000 miles on the odometer. I informed InlinePRO of my intentions with the car and overall requirements.
1. First and foremost was reliability. I wanted something that was bullet-proof
2. My car was a daily driver, and it had to perform like a daily driver. Driveability, fuel economy, overall experience.
3. The primary use of the additional engine output would be for autocrossing, not drag racing. I wanted a turbo that provided a lot of power but exhibited good transient response and quick spool times. My initial goal was 350 rwhp with the stock headgasket. After a little bit of coaxing, Ya @ Inline convinced me to put on a headgasket and shoot for 375. I said sure.
So there I was, mid February, picking my car up at InlinePRO's shop. The temperature was teetering back and forth between 19 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit and I'm driving the car back to my parents house in MD. To say that there was a night and day difference in power and engine output would be the understatement of the year .
Once the weather warmed up a bit, my front tires (5 year old factory tires) needed replacement. I wanted to do a sort of plus one on all four corners and after some research, S2000 fitment Volks were the only option I wanted to entertain. Pricy, but totally worth it.
I bought a slightly used set of Ti Gunmetal Volks shod in Falken Azenis RT615 tires and the performance potential of the car was upped yet another notch. Cornering traction was phenomenally better than stock and I could no longer spin the tires in third gear. Good stuff.
The final modification to the car was to add an OEM front lip spoiler. Frankly, it should have been the first. The car looks like it should have for the past two years of my ownership. The package is now complete!
An extraordinary change of events...
After two years of S2000 ownership (and two years of real world work at the job I obtained after college), I was recently presented with the opportunity to relocate to Germany and work with the European arm of my company. Being 24.5 years old and single, this is an opportunity that I would be absolutely out of my mind to pass up. So then it's settled. Come January (or sooner), I will be moving to Germany and the car will be left in the states. The feasibility of converting the car to pass TUV inspection in Germany is not very high, especially considering the engine mods. It's just more hassle then I'm willing to put up with.
And that brings me to now. I'd like to put the car into the hands of enthusiast, like myself, who yearns to own an awesome motoring machine.
I'd be a fool to try and convince someone that a 2002 car, used as a daily driver, would be in 100% mint condition. Several cosmetic issues exist and are listed below.
I'd be more than happy to clarify any or all of them upon request.
1. There are 4 door dings, all of which are small. One on each rear quarter panel, behind the doors, and one in the center of each door. Apparently people like to use small sporty cars are door stops when they park next to them? The dings are shown in the pictures above. I tried to take the shots at angles to better show the ding "shape".
2. About a month into ownership, I let my ex-girlfriend look after my car while I was on vacation in Nebraska. I'm not sure what was crazier, letting her look after it, or vacationing in Nebraska. All jokes aside, she wanted to wash it and give it back to me in perfectly clean condition. She ended up scrubbing a little too hard in two spots and the clear coat was buffed a bit. One location is immediately in front of the passenger side windshield squirter. The other is on the flat forward part of the front bumper, above the "fake" cooling duct. Again, pics shown above.
3. Normal wear and tear items like the drivers side seat bolster (although I must say its in very good shape for almost 40K miles).
4. The dreaded softop rip. I've got an inch-long tear on the passenger side.
This is, without a doubt, the best for "for sale" post I have ever seen. I will be buying an S2000 next spring and this is exactly the kind of info I will be looking for. Good luck with the sale of the car and the new job.

Buying a car is a huge deal and I want the person who buys mine to be totally comfortable in doing so. The more info the better!
Hi, names James Daly.
I joined this forum in a effort to learn more about the s2000 and possible purchase one in the near future.
When I saw that you were from Charlottesville I quickly clicked on your thread.
Im in and around charlottesville everyday, haven't made the move yet though. I work at the IIHS in Ruckersville if your familiar with it and would love to come by and check the car out. I see in the pictures that your at eagles landing and would be no problem for me to swing by as a close friend just moved there himself.
I'll be at his place tonight (thursday)around 530-6pm and possibly tomarrow as well after I get off work from the scuba shop in town.
Love the car, I understand it has a few flaws but the mods you've done have raised the price, would like to discuss the price if its negotiable.
I emailed you my email and phone number.
Look forward to hearing from you and making a local sale.
