OMG - I've spent $44k !!!
Sheesh !!! I knew I should not have added it all up.
Car itself, w/ factory chin spoiler, rear spoiler, car cover, CD Changer; taxes, etc. came to $36,474.
Then after you add up all the modifications, install costs, dress-up items and the like I'm up to $41,337.
Add another $3k for the hardtop and the anticipated costs associated with some mods I've ordered but not received/installed, I'm in the ballpark of $44,000.
Damn, and I still have not counted new stuff I want, including the SC, the X-brace, the STB; the lightweight Flywheel & stronger clutch/pressure plate, and the Spoon wheels.
That should add another $9,000 or better. Jeez - was this all that smart - a $53,000 Honda????

Actually, it's a damn good thing you did add it up. It's always good to know where you stand! It's all the accessories that kill you. $600 for a CD changer?!?!? Aftermarket stuff is much cheaper and usually better quality. The only thing I paid extra for was the 7/100/0 warranty (got it for $1295).
I don't think you are necessarily paying too much, you just are getting a lot of extra stuff I wouldn't have gotten. (or could have afforded!!) I think you will be able to get some of your money back whenever you decide to sell it, all factory original accessories. Some people like that kind of thing for cars of this nature. Like the factory matched luggage for Ferrari's!

I walked in off the street and bought the car at MSRP, but it already had the CD changer, the spoilers, and the car cover added in. I could have done w/o the changer, for certain, as well as the car cover.
Part of the cost problem is that I was buying after-market parts fairly early in the game (Feb. 01) and lots of parts have come way down since then.
Also wasted money on an RM Racing CAI ($358), which is not even good for a door stop. Took it off and put stock air box back on w/ JR's filter. That is great.
Further, IMMEDIDATELY bought the RM Racing SS exhaust. Love the sound, but probably too loud for most. I knew it added nothing to HP, but thought it was light weight compared to stock. Apparently not so and probably weighs close to stock. If I had it to do over again, I'd get the Mugen.
Everything else was market price or below and I did much of the installations myself. I'm delighted with the obvious improvements in punch and seemingly reduced weight.
Overall though - what a pile of dough to put out!!! Fortunately, I did it well knowing that I'd never be able to recover the expense when I sell it. What I bought and what I got was high Dollar enjoyment.

Just installed the CF Air Duct from Mingster and it CLEARLY makes a difference at 55mph and above. Sixth gear acts like fifth in terms of pull. The cost of that was already figured in though.
Also, just bought a set of Regamaster EVOs (16"), which are way lighter than stock. Came with BFG KDWs, which I already have on the rears. Great deal at $1600 plus shipping.
So - add about $1700 or so to what I'd already spent. OUCH!!
