I just installed mine this past weekend. If you have the manual and the tech article from s2ki, it should not be that bad. You will also want a tranny jack and some other tools. I will go in to more detail when I get out of the office.
It does take a fair amount of tools. Check out the service manual and tech article here on S2KI. I think it shows everything you need. Its pretty intimidating if you dont work on cars often but if you take it 1 step at a time and dont rush it, its plenty doable.
1. Make sure you leave ample time. A long weekend would be ideal.
2. Print out the articles from s2ki or bring your laptop in the garage.
3. Invest in 4 nice jack stands. Not these little ones. I got some Torin 6-ton stands that go up to 24". They were about $100 for all of them and are super stable even with the extension up fairly high.
4. You can buy a transmission jack at harbor freight for $70. It does the job and will save you a ton of time and the hassle of using a floor jack and 4 hands to keep it on.
5. 3/8" wobble joint is a must.
6. 12" + 24" 3/8 drive extension is a must.
7. Impact gun will save you oodles of time with the subframe.
8. Flashlight will be your friend.
9. Mechanix gloves for you and a friend.
10. Torque wrenches. I bought 2 of them. 1 is a 1/2 drive for bigger loads and the other is a 3/8 drive for more precise measurements such as installing the pressure plate.
If you plan on installing a header, intake, or test pipe - This is a great time because everything will be apart.

I don't see beer or pizza anywhere on that list. Remind me never to be YOUR friend.

I also went to UTI. Get the manual, and print out the the procedure from S2KI. I had all the tools to do my clutch. I heard the older S's are alittle more harder because some the wiring is harder to get to to disconnect. Mine was alot easier to do because there was less wiring to disconnect. Also you really don't need a tranny jack. Its nice to have one but I was able to pull it out with a friend. Let me know when you want to do this. Next week would be good because my wife is going to L.A. I get off work saturday 4:30pm so we can work on it to whenever and if we don't finish we can finish it out Sunday. Then you can help me the week after! The clutch I have is overkill since I don't have the power anymore.
