ElToro SCCA ProSolo... S2K's Dominate!!
Nice job to Andy for taking the win! And for Joe and Derek making it another 1-2-3 result for the S2000! Hey Keeney... a Miata? Everyone knows that's a girl's car! (sorry Ken...
)
Anyway, nice job to all... including Ken for 2nd in CS and Jason Keeney for 3rd in CS! Oh, and Keeney... is the Miata still running and in one piece?

Here are the results: http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/prosolo/...ne/results.html
Anyone got a report? How did the challenge go? Weather? Etc?

uhh, thanks for the compliment Jason..
I'm considering going to the Michigan Pro since I have a cousin there that I've been meaning to visit. If you can scout around let me know if anyone there wouldn't mind a co-driver. Otherwise it may be HS in a rental, with Team Avis on the side. I think my new arch-rival, Randy Chase may be going there as well...
I think Andy's tire choice was a good one for the Pro.

I ran the 215's all around at the Pro. There was a fast slalom going out that I was going into 3rd before the first gate, and a tight turnaround where I left it in 2nd. Guys on 245's were also going to 3rd on the way out, but going to 1st in the turnaround.
If anything, I would say that the 215 all around setup is more unstable than the 225/245 setup, so I would think running the stock bar with the 215's would be an adventure in oversteer.
Thanks to stiffening the Comptech bar as far as it would go (2 bolts, thanks to jzr for the sanity check), and some better shock/pressure settings made the car a bit more stable vs. San Diego. Running on concrete didn't hurt either.
I weighed my car at El Toro and it came in about 2745....with me in the car.
The 215's save another few pounds per corner, not to mention they are easier to break loose off the line. I would guess I was launching 500-1000rpm lower than those on 245's. We have a couple of events this weekend where I'll probably compare the 215's vs. the 225/245 setup. I'm not sure what general conclusions will come from that though, as issues like stability and inside wheelspin on this car sure seem to vary a great deal with the different bars / shocks people are running.

Hmmm... a matrix would be great! As long as I can get a copy.
I'm not totally sure about the 215/245 Hooiser setup. Andy could probably speak to this better, but I think there is just too much diameter difference. I'm not sure that rake will be beneficial to our car's balance, but I'm sure it's worth trying. It sure would be nice if they had a 245/40/16 for the rear!
I'll be trying the 215/215, and 215/245 as the season wears on. There are so many choices now that testing is getting ridiculous!
