Default Our Long Weekend

Just got back from five days away and 1000 miles in the S2000 - thought I'd report back here before I fall asleep on the sofa.

Wed: Northumberland to Center Gravity then to Bedford.

After the excellent write-ups of Chris, I decided since I was passing that it was time I got my alignment sorted and bushes checked. The alignment has been bad for a year or so - too much tyre wear on the drivers side and a very skittish rear end.

I was prepared for some seized bushes, but hoped that my plusgassing and Chris's talents could shift them. No such luck - a potential MOT failing castor bush and every other lower arm adjustment seized (bar one), meant that Chris was struggling. However, he managed to give me a fast road setup whilst I decided what to do about my car - trade-in car/powerflex/replacement arms. I think I'm going to get replacement arms done by Chris, once he quotes for the options.

So after 4.5 hours at CG and once I'd stopped shaking from the test drive ( ) we headed off to Bedford....

Car felt so much better - better ride, much smoother, much more stable on the motorway

Thurs: Palmersport day http://www.palmersport.com/
This little beauty fell in my lap at work courtesey of Vodafone and a purchasing manager who didn't want to go!
I've never done a track day before as I didn't know how my health would cope with it, but as this was a freebie I thought this was the perfect opportunity to find out. Luckily I was able to drive everything (although I did duck out of the karting to save my energy) and it was absolutely amazing.

The instructors pushed you all the way and beyond the limits, Le Mans style JP1 and Single Seaters were the high points until I drove the 420bhp XKRs with TC. This was like playing GT4 in the fastest cars,it was completely surreal how fast these cars went. I have a new found respect for race cars with TC. It is not a safety device, just a way of going stupidly fast

There was an instructor there called Dale who used to own an NSX and had been on a Le Mans trip with a load of S2000 owners. Anyone know him? Top bloke.

here's me burning it up

Rest of the week
Family party in North Wales. Plus some great roads to test my newly set up S2000. Loads of fun

Time to rest now!

If it's the same guy that I'm thinking of, he's a mate of Moggy and came along on one of the s2ki track days at Anglesey a couple of years back.

JP day is where I first met the S2000, and fell in love. I'd just got a new company car and had to wait 2 years to get out of the scheme!

One of the instructors said the S2000s (1st generation) they used to have were a nightmare. Great in the dry but they used to spin so much in the wet that no-one could keep them on the track at speed!

I can believe it was
