Default How to Re-Install Trunk Springs?

I took my trunk springs out before (using the OEM HONDA tool) And now I want to reinstall them. Does anyone have any pictures on how to use the tool to re install the trunk springs?

I have read the Helm's, and how to's from Honda that directs you to take out and re install the trunk springs...but its not making any sense.

I've tried many different ways, I know I'm doing something wrong.

Any help would be great, thanks.

the tool will be upside down when you go to re-install. put the hooks through the trunk hinges first and then you put it on the square'ish end of the spring. then you spin it around counter clockwise and put the springs back on the spring perch.

Thanks for your response. I kinda of see how its suppose to be installed. But still don't see how holding the tool upside down is going to open the spring enough to put it back onto the bracket thing.

Anyone got a picture of the process of holding the tool the other way etc?

Thanks!

it's tough, there is a ton of tension and you will think something is going to break.

So is there a particular way you are suppose to install the end part of the 'spring' into the trunk hinges?

Which direction is the end of the spring suppose to be facing, its shaped like a C is the open end suppose to be facing up at first, and you turn and twist it to face down?

I just don't see how the spring can be popped back into place with the tool, of course I know I must be holding it wrong.

small hook, goes into hinge hole from the top inside part of the hinge. ie: the inside of the bowl if you look at the hinge it looks bowl shaped. so the end of the hook is on the outside of the bowl.

large sq hook is now upside down. put tool upside down on upside down hook.

now rotate tool towards you all the way until big hook does a 180 and open end is pointing down.

now slip it on the hook retainer and make sure it locks in place before you let go.

if you let go to soon, it's gonna hurt.

it's a pita to do. . I ended up doing it with a long screw driver, and some electrical tape LOL

DON"T ASK, go to the dealership and look at one for reference.

BTW if you put them on backwards, the trunk will close still but the bars will grind on the trunk. . sounds / works horrible
