Default Blinking cel fixed! p0300 etc...update

Car idled a bit funny, almost like it was starving for air (slightly nothing major). CEL came on and eventually it turned into a blinking cel. At idle or low rpms the car shook a bit, vibrations came from the engine. The cel would only come on during idle. at stop lights if i didnt rev the gas slightly the cel would come on and blink. If i drove without idling it never came on.

Pulled the codes and always got 0302, 1399. After a couple of days the other cylinders would show up, 0301, 0302, 0303, 0304, 0300 and 1399.

I decided to rotate the coil packs and same thing 0302 first then the others. Problem not solved.

I changed the plugs, same as above.

Bought used injectors same problem.

Dumped gallons of fuel injector cleaner (over the course of the month), same problem.

Map whack, same prob.

Cleaned the iac valve, same prob.

Compression check, all cylinders were withing 10% of each other.

The funny thing was 0302 came on always first, no matter what. Since the compression was good, I figured the valves werent bent, so i decided to do a valve adjustment.

Most of the valves only were slightly out of spec except, you guessed it, the intake side valve of cylinder #2. I couldnt even get the .006 to pass through.

So moral of story thanks to the board my cel is fixed. Also, if you get one specific cylinder showing a hesitation code, try coil pack swap, then check the valve clearance.

Glad you got it fixed.

Im going to Link your post here to the CEL Thread that is stickied at the top of the page. Try to help other people by using the path you've already cleared.

For that mileage, I would just make sure you didn't get some bad gasoline and have the valve clearances checked. Check the valves because you may have a bent one from an over-rev...and that can happen at any mileage.

A bit different (Random misfire & Cylinder 1 mysfire). I did do a coil swap and valve adjustment. Glad it worked for you and thanks for posting what you did.

Here's my problem

not even a month yet

am i wrong to be nervous about this? i mean is it normal quirk or what? at only 20k mi i cant see it being normal. the only good thing is i put a lot of miles on her last weekend, 250 mi stretches, no issues no cel, ran perfect. if it had happened then, id be really scared. but the way its done this randomly makes me think its just something stupid...i really friggin hope so
