It looks like i will be getting one of these....i like them both...i really like the lancer evoVI and i heard a rumor of an EVOVIII.
What do you guys think.

Are you going to import one? Or wait until they both hit US shores? If it's the former, I'd get the Evo7 as it is better looking and all things being equal, a bit faster. If it's the latter case, I'd say wait until they are actually here, and see how bad the cars get nerfed.

 

Also, the Evo8 will be out in Japan about the same time the Evo7 gets here - late this year, early next - if rumors are to be believed.

im definately not importing one...especially when they hit the shores in 6 months...especially not for the extra $10k.
i like them both i just want things to settle first

 

 

The latest "Automobile" magazine has a comparo between the STi and the Evo... they seem to like the Evo better overall... sounds like it's quite a bit more sporty.

Yeah, I don't have the issue in front of me, but I remember that they mentioned that it took much quicker reflexes to catch the evo if it did bite, but that it was much more nimble and neutral around corners. The STi would do nothing but understeer on dry ground and low speed corners. They said the evo was like shaving with a straight razor: cuts a lot closer if you're careful, but more potential for pain... Sounds a lot like a certain roadster. The evo was also supposed to be noisier and ride extremely harsh. Those would be positives in my book.
