Default Using 3rd Gen. RX-7 Wheels on S2K

Anyone tried running the 3rd Gen. RX-7 wheels on the rear of the S2K? They're light 16x8 wheels with a +50mm offset. Seems like they would fit nicely. Not only that, but they're for sale all over the place for dirt cheap.

I'm looking for a backup set of wheels for rain tires.

Am I crazy?

Someone did that and it seems to work fine, but are they lighter than the JDM 6-spoke's?

The rear fits flush with the stock fender. The owner of the car in the photo flared his rear fender.

So if it fits flush then they don't fit? I imagine there would be rubbing going over bumps if it fitted flush.

Here is better picture of the flare:

What I don't get is, there are S2000 with 17X8 +45 offset wheels, and they don't stick out as much as the RX-7 wheels.

p.s. I've seen this car with RX-7 wheels before the fender flare, and the rear wheels looked pretty much like this one

So if stock RX-7 wheels fit, then aftermarket RX-7 wheels should also fit?

Ray,

This may be because the 3rd Gen. RX-7 wheels have an offset of +50mm. So the RX-7 wheels stick out 5mm more.

I have no idea. It's some custom color the owner painted the car in when he stripped it and rebuilt it from ground up.
