I was listening to the local D.C. radio show called Tech Radio (http://www.techradioshow.com), a weekly discussion of everything from computers to gadgets to fast cars.

The hosts, a few networking nerds who have a jones (and money) for some nice iron always have something nice to say about the S2000. Considering there are a few M3's, ZX Turbos, and a Boxster in their stable that's pretty nice.

Today they had Dan Carney, an auto writer who does freelance work for PopSci and others. He is pushing a book specifically on the S2000 that will be out very soon. It covers the design history of the car, incl. lots of insight from the cars designers.

It's being published by Motor Books, but it isn't on their web site yet. You can pre-order it from Amazon at:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/076...6180553-0787817

for $19.95. Although the page says it won't be available until June 2001, the author says that they should be getting initial shipments in late February.

He seemed very knowledgeable about all aspects of the car, even going into Neil Sapp's and Tony Swan's SCCA racing exploits.

Upon listening to the author, I'm sure this will be a far more worthwhile purchase than Honda's own book.

Thanks for the info, Gregg. Someone (dvj) posted here yesterday asking if anyone knew about the book, so it's good that you got to hear about it from the author.

Gregg how's the car cover working out? Where did you get them? I live in NY. I will need to store the car at least 3 months out of the year.

The cover is the standard Honda one...and the pics are from last winter. I've found a far better winter storage place...at a body shop.

It's funny that this came up. This weekend a customer of mine came in talking about this book his company is going to publish on the S. It happens to be this same book. He said as soon as he gets one he will give me a copy. I told him I would tell others on S2000online about it & they would more than likley take a few copies. Anyway order them up.
