Post New Alarm

OK so my POS Alarm is finally buggered.

It was drawing 15amps from the battery, and it needs replacing. Hence why my car would only stand for 2 days without being flat.

So I am going to replace with a clifford. Any recommendations of the current models, and a good installer near Milton Keynes?

Thanks

I got my G5 650 MKii from these guys. Installed in a couple of hours at my work.

Not gone wrong (yet). You can use from huge distances. Not waking up in the middle of the night with the alrarm going off etc. Apart from that not sure how you tell its good or not.

Very pleased i installed this rather than going for a new alarm board from Honda. Recommend everyone not to do this for peace of mind.

Can't have remote startup and retain cat 1/2 status, i.e insurance invalid.

Clifford is called Viper in US (a much bigger company).

Check out the 460 and 460 VX.

I had that Hamilton sack of cack removed and a Viper installed at my workplace (including remote window up, the best sensors there are (not sure whether thats microwave or ultrasonic?) and a functional boot release!!) for just over

I'm fairly sure it does. Are you are aware of ANY UK car with remote start as standard or even a factory option?

There's also a strong chance it's illegal too, trying to dig out the legislation...

If it's actually illegal why would clifford market it so actively in the UK? Previous versions of remote start in some alarms disabled the immobiliser and the alarm. The clifford system does neither so perhaps it's different. Anyways, not something I'd put in a convertible really

Ian, I would have that alarm!

The remote start will shut off the engine if you press the gas pedal without the keys in the ignition...I dont think it affects the thatcham category.
