Well... to make a long story short, my car was rear-ended some time ago and the beautiful ARC GT-Wing is no more...

Although I loved how aggressive my S looked with the GT-Wing, it simply attracted WAAAAY too much attention. And for any of you that have been following the posts about the crackdown on modifications here in Vancouver, B.C. ... you can understand why I decided to go with something a bit more subtle.

So here it is... my Spoon AP1... evolved...

The rear wing you see in these pics is from Back Yard Special...

As far as I can tell, this wing is quite rare... actually, I couldn't find anybody on S2Ki with it... at least not with pics!). It is most noticable when viewed from the side... being very knife-edged... and changes the profile of the car quite a bit... very sleek, IMHO.

It is hardly noticable when viewed directly from the rear though...

The shape of the wing is like a large sickle with a knife-edge... the first thought that came into my mind when I held it in my hands was that it resembled a Klingon bat'lath (Yes... I admit it... I'm a Trekkie... ). You could seriously injure yourself with the trunk open if you're not careful!

The best feature of the wing is the way in which it installs. First, you need to remove the integrated trunk brake light. Once it is removed, there are 5 holes. The Back Yard Special wing bolts perfectly into these 5 existing holes. True, you lose the third brake light, but hey... NO DRILLING REQUIRED!

And maybe it's just me... but to my eye, the removal of the trunk brake light makes the rear of the car seem visually wider...

And here's some other pics of my car... it's actually set a little TOO low right now... I'm rubbing over big bumps!

But there's a good reason for that... I just had the BUDDY CLUB RACING SPEC DAMPERS installed!!! We didn't have time to correct the height to a more streetable level yet. Sorry, no pics either... but don't worry, I will make a separate post devoted to the Racing Spec Dampers soon!

I think my car looks especially cool from this angle...

Hope you guys enjoy da pics!

It's cool, but would look even better if it were molded to the trunk. The seam line just above the "H" emblem is a little harsh from the rear.

that looks sweet does it mount to where the 3rd brake light was or do you have to drill holes too?

sure, you could, as long as you don't body mold the sides of the spoiler, right?

Yup, looks nice, but molding the line above the emblem would definitely work much better.
