As most folks know Blair has moved and passed the torch to me. Considering it was a short notice I was not able to learn the ropes of SAC2Kdays. I'm trying to figure something out but I need some input.
I'm not sure the BBQ will be happening unless I can find a place that can acommodate the many cars that will be showing.
As far as the Sunday drive I would think that is still a go but as for the hotel I'm not sure as I am waiting for a package from Blair.
The first two years I believe were at the dealership, but since then they have been at Blair's. Basically the same thing every year, bbq/chill on Saturday, and drive up to Reno on Sunday.
Worked owned me the last two times
Depending on the month i might be able to attend this year, but as long as there is a drive (with top down weather!!) with time for food i'll be good.
Anything more would be a bonus for me.
IMO the drive should be the focal point. At least get that locked down and can build from there.
If we do anything more than a drive I think there is a few things that must be addressed first:
1. Activity
2. Location
3. Cost/Funding
It seems that people want Sac2kDays but we need to see how many people want it bad enough to contribute to it. Obviously Andy (and Todd maybe) have some large shoes to fill with the departure of Blair. From what I understand, Blair put a tremendous amount of time, effort, and money into this.
Andy (and maybe Todd) has expressed some willingness to put in some time and effort but it would be unfair of us to expect them to break bread the way Blair did.
Some suggestions since last nites Sac2kDays discussion @ Hooters:
1) Activity - I think people were diggin the idea of a BBQ. Perhaps we can do some sort of potluck style BYOB BBQ.
2) Location - we were talking about getting some sort of business to host the BBQ. Instead of finding a host that will undoubtedly want $$$, maybe we can look into a covered picnic area at one of Sac's fine parks. Reservations for a covered spot typically only cost around $20. There would be plenty of parking around the perimeter and maybe even some activities like hoop, football, etc.
3) Cost/Funding - Maybe we can start some kind of fund (maybe even a PayPal acct) for the expenses that will occur. People that want to show up should contribute a lil bit to the fund. Reservations, plates, utensils, bottled water, a minimum amount of meats for the grill can be purchased out of this fund. Every thing else can be brought potluck style. At least this way we can have a minimum of what is expected and also get a feel of who is going to come.
These are just some ideas I've come up with now that I've had a night to sleep on it and i'm not intoxicated by chx wings. Feel free to use any, all, or none of this.

I want to contribute for this, opening a Paypal for people to contribute would be a good idea IMO, Andy if you set one up post up the addy so that we can start contibuting
As far as the location goes I think the idea of having it in a park is a good one, we can all contribute with dishes or drinks as Adam suggested,
common people lets make this happen
Keeping it the same weekend would be a good idea IMO. If you do the drive Saturday instead of Sunday, you may get more people to stay over and enjoy the festivities in Reno. That kind of rules out the BBQ though.
FYI:
Sac S2KDays I-III were held at the dealership with an after meet party at Blair's.
SacS2KDays IV-VI were held at Blair's.
Each had a drive to Reno the next day. Five times we have gone up through Kirkwood (lunch twice at Kirkwood resort, twice at the side of the road place) and once through Auburn (lunch was BYOL and down by a river).
I do not know where another Honda dealer is in the Sacramento area, but if you go to them and discuss what we have done in the past and show pictures of how many S' come to the meet, they might want to sponsor the event like EG Honda use to do.
