Default Searched Forum...Heavy Clutch Travel

What is the deal...after the rain here in CA my clutch pedal started to feel heavy. After driving HARD and fast the pedal felt just fine. Then it goes back to feeling like its sticking.

The best way to describe it: it feels twice as hard to push the pedal in than normal and it feels like when I let it out it sticks at first then in the middle of the travel.

I have checked the fluid, it looks light brown.

+1 bleed your clutch system. And try again.

It's not the fluid, but that's a good idea to change it.

It's a dry clutch fork. The two tips need grease where it contacts the bearing, and the pocket where the slave cyl sits needs grease also.

Guaranteed

Listen to Billman!

I've been having the same problem. I did EVERYTHING (new mc, fluid flush, slave regrease) and I still have the problem.

The only thing left to do is the fork, and it just so happens that there's a Honda service bulletin for that. Time to get back under the car.

look under the dash at the clutch pedal. look at all the neat lil moving parts when you press the clutch with your hand and spray grease on whatever moves. just dont spray a crap load on everything tho

Well, they would be incorrect instructions. The clutch fork referred to by Billman resides within the bellhousing. You'll need to peel back the rubber boot where the fork enters the bellhousing and slip some grease in there on the end of a screwdriver, or similar applicator. You will need to lubricate the contact points between the fork and the bearing within the housing as well as where the clutch slave rod actuates the fork outside the housing.
