The X200 works with Alpine's Sound Imprint system for some fancy DSP, while the X300 has USB input for pulling media off of non-iPod sources.

Alpine's website has full details:
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/s...?category=AV_HU
one thing to note is that the iDA-X300 has only only one set of preouts,
and does not appear to be hardwire remote compatible, but can probably use
an IR remote.

I'm about to purchase the iDA-X300, can modifry's dci work? I figured the wired verison doesn't work, but perhaps the IR?

Alpine's site says that all three models (iDA-X300, X200, X100) are "Steering Wheel Control Ready" in the comparison chart so I think there's a hardwire remote jack. I hope Modifry's DCI works with them.

I've been keeping an eye on these since they were announced. I looked at the iDA-X001 a few months back, but I didn't like the user interface. Looks like they streamlined the interface a little with these.

Since I'm looking into the iDA-X series, the RMS is rated at 16 (I think) while the CDA-9883 is rated higher (I don't know the number off the top of my head). Does this mean that the 9883 can potentially still sound more cleaner than these iDA's?

the wired remote.

I have the x300, not installed yet though. Each maqnufactor will give you a different version of their power rating, Companies like clarion, alpine, pioneer usually give you a true rating so when you see 17rms x4, dont worrie. It will still be plenty loud!

no cd drive FTMFW lol

^Let us know how you like it! I also plan on running a CD-less head unit... I have all my mp3's anyways! I would like to know too if modifry's dci works as well.
