Default SIGMA 30mm F1.4 EX DC HSM

Hey guys, need opinions...maybe I'm going to buy it!!!

thanks in advance

Here is some information:

1. Large Maximum Aperture of F1.4
2. The most appropriate coating for digital SLR cameras
3.Two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and an hybrid aspherical lens, provides the utmost correction for all types of aberrations
4. Equipped with HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) system
5. This large aperture standard lens was exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras featuring APS-C size image sensor

What camera body are you planning to use it on?

I thought about it for my Canons dAPS-C bodies but decided to save the money - bought the EF 35mm f/2 instead...

Also I wasn't sure about Sigma because of reports of sample variation / quality control concerns across their lenses, & the whole 'reverse engineering' thing... (no personal experience to back that up - just what I've read)

I've seen positive reviews of the 30mm f/1.4 tho'

Can't comment specifically on that lense, but the Sigma EX line are great lenses. I have their super wide angle lense and love it. Very high quality.

It has a few flaws. It's soft at the corners wide open, and CA are rather large. It has center sharpness exceeding that of the sensor of a D40. I would recommend the Sigma 50mm macro, as that is a stellar lens.

my classmate has that lens and she loves it. she uses it more than her 50 f/1.4.

don't get so hung up on minor flaws...every lens has its flaws. just go shoot.
