Default Bonnet Gas Lifts/Dampers - The Budget Choice

A few weeks ago I resurrected the 'Tein Hood Dampers' thread and asked if anyone had tried any cheaper varieties. See Here. No responses there, but I figured for the price I didn't mind taking a chance, so here's some feedback.

The Dampers are branded Sokie Tech (search S2000 sokie tech and you will find them on ebay).

Mine are from Thailand, and I used the international ebay site (.com) to get the best price. This was $68 or

There's nothing wrong with them, there the same as mine

Ps put a bit of oil on them as they will rust a little.

One of the more useful mods on here, especially those with 'older' models who seem to need to top up the oil between pee stops!

Always liked my Audi and VWs for having gas dampers. Although these are neat is so much as they lift as soon as you unclip the latch

Thanks for the write up.

i toyed with the idea of doing such mods to previous cars.
for the price, it's a bargain and a nice feature too.

question: does the bonnet raise any higher than it would normally?

My Porsche has them front and back, it also has a digital oil level guage, these things should be standard on the S2000 IMO
