Hey guys, the Jacksonville group is looking to have a group drive up to Savannah. I'm not real familiar with the Savannah area but know there are some really cool things to do.

Some of you have shown interest in doing a group meet. I think it would be really cool to hang out with anyone from the area that would like to join in on the fun.

The plan as of now is to leave from Kingsland, Ga around 0900. That would put us in Savannah around lunch time. We could do lunch then walk around Old Savannah and see the sites. We could then do a group drive somewhere and then do dinner.

I got a hug smile on my face as soon as I saw this thread. I got a PM form negcamber expressing interest in some of you Fl guys making a trip up. There's a ton of cool places and sites in the downtown area so this should make for a really cool trip.

Unfortunitly there arn't too many nice twisty roads here but I have a few decent ones in mind If you guys are up for dinner on Tybee Island (about 15 min drive from downtown) we could take the "scenic" route through some of the nicer waterfront areas around the area (Isle of Hope and Wilmington Island).

Oooh and lets not forget a nice top down blast over the Talmadge Bridge to Hutchinson Island

 

Any recommendations for lunch? I figure we could set a rendezvous point around 11:00 for lunch at a local eatery.

 

Lunch: If you like pubs, Savannah has some of the best in the state. I would recommend Murphy's Law, Molly Macphersons, and the Six Pence (in that order). Also, stay away from Paula Dean's. It is not worth the wait. Savannah nightlife is pretty good as well. I like circa 1875 (good wine and beer), wild wings or the jinx (if a good band is playing), and Murphy's (if you want to keep drinking into the night at the same place you had lunch.

I've lived here for about two years, and there are no good roads that I know of. I can't make the drive on the 22nd (getting married that day), but if you come into to town on March 9th or 30th, there will be an autocross in town.

drive sounds like fun but don't forget your radar detectors there are loads of cops around
