Thumbs down ACT Heavy Duty Clutch Kit

well, i bought an ACT HDSS clutch kit from eBay. i got the full kit (act disc, act pp) and there is zero clutch buzz. i guess ACT fixed the problem, so there is no need to spend $725 on the htg kit (ACT PP, oem disc, TOB) when you can get this one for ~$500 shipped.

How do you like the overall feel?
Is the clamping force noticeably stronger?
Stiffer pedal feel?

Thanks

Dan

you can feel the clutch bite much more than a stock clutch. the pedal feel is exactly the same as an OEM AP1 clutch, probably harder than an OEM AP2. it's hard to modulate at first, but you'll learn in a day and you'll get it right. i bought from autopowerusa

no TOB, but depending on your situation you might not always have to change it. either way it's ~$80 extra and you would have spent less still.

Thats good to know since my car buzzes so F'ing loud people on the sidewalk look to see if I'm breaking down. "no no, thats normal, its an AP1" My friend has ACT + light fly and it is definately going on my car when I need to replace the oem....might even do it before then.

oh yeah i also have the ACT 8.6lb flywheel. you need to rev the car to about 1500rpm to get rolling smoothly from a stop. you can take off the normal way but it'll be rough and it doesn't feel too nice.
