Hey guys I am new to the s2ki forums. I am looking to get an s2k in a few months. I am just curious if an s2k (ap1) can beat an eclipse GT 06. One of my good friends that I chill with currently has the slowest car in the group, and we call his car "girl power". I love the s2k but if it cant beat a fwd "girl car" then what is the point in buying

PS: we tested the cars on forza 2, both in stock form from a 20 and 40 mph roll. The eclipse walked the s2k slowly on 3/4 runs....but that was a video game.

The new Eclipse V6 is quite a bit more powerful and torquey than the S2000 I4. From a roll, it may very well be as quick (or quicker) but it shouldn't be as fast from a dig.

The S2000 "only" has 240hp. There are plenty of cars that have quite a bit more these days. It never was the fastest and it's definitely not the fastest now....except in the corners.

 

You may be looking at the wrong car. If you want power, a mustang gt, lancer evo, or wrx STi may be what you're looking for.

 

 

ive beaten two of the new eclipse v6, both on the freeway. i had a harder time with the reflashed gti than the new eclipses.

 

The Eclipse GT definitely is a girl car (no offense to anyone on this board that owns one... which will probably be a big fat zero)

When I bought the G35 I looked at the Eclipse GT, it was a neat looking car imho with the aero kit and v6... so I decided to testdrive one... Long story short, It drove like crap. TONS of body roll, loose steering, torque steer, etc

Whenever I drove the S2000 to work, there were two guys that would always talk crap about my "ricer". One drove an Accord and the other drove an Eclipse GT, go figure... Anyways, the one with the Eclipse always talked crap about how slow I am, and how he has xxx horsepower with a cold air intake and exhaust, etc... and I would always just laugh at him and ask him if he is serious?

Anyways, he kept talking crap day after day (I mean, heck... what kind of retard thinks he's the sh!t because he drives an Eclipse?) ...so one day I took him up on his offer to race. To put it short, I beat him from a roll, and raped him from a dig. I asked him if he wanted to try again down East Canyon. Shut him up pretty quickly.

 

The 06 Eclipse in any trim is a BIG FAT TURD! Shouldn't even mention the two cars in the same sentence.

 

The new Accord coupe is .1s faster 0-60. Its not that slow a car, but its a pig in terms of handling.
