How Do I Reset The EPS DTC's (Different from CEL)
Ok, My handheld scanner clears only check engine codes, my factory service manual does not tell me how to clear the EPS codes. I know inserting a paperclip into terminals 4-9 will show the EPS codes but now how do I clear those codes. Need procedure for clearing codes on EPS. This is different from the torque sensor reset because while the codes are being displayed with the paperclip in it will not let me perform a torque sensor reset.[B]
Which code has set? Obviously if you are using a paperclip then you have an older hand held scanner. OBD-I codes (pre 1994 I believe) used the "blink-blink" method, whoich could be induced by strategic placement of a paperclip. . Most if not all OBD-I codes are related to emissions. Enter OBD-II. The next generation protocol which added manufacturer specific DTC's (trouble codes). The EPS DTC's are in this latter catergory. OBD-II is an interactive protocol as opposed to passive as in OBD-I. Thus one needs a hand held (usually a Honda PGM tester but many aftermarket makers exist) to "interact" with the chip. If your handheld doesn't support an OBD-II DTC reset then you should take it to a major store (most do OBD-II diagnostics for free just to sell you stuff to repair the car).

My handheld scanner is for OBD II cars, in the s2000 factory service manual it says that resetting the computer and clearing engine codes does not clear the EPS DTC codes. My scanner says no codes because it just checks the ECU for codes, maybe high end scanners check both the ECU and EPS Computer for codes.
I replaced my steering rack and and torque sensor. Nothing is wrong with the new rack, no flashing EPS light, nor does it come on while driving. However when I try to perform the Torque sensor reset it won't let me, it just keeps flashing the codes in memory which need to be cleared before I can perform the torque sensor reset.

Someone who reads this post must know how to reset the EPS DTC's
anywhere in the helms manual where it say's to use PGM Tester SCS method it say's to connect the PGM-Tester and use it to jump the SCS to ground, well when you do the jumper "blinky" trick you are jumping PIN9 (the SCS wire brown) to a ground PIN4. It is the same thing as connecting the PGM-Tester and having it ground the SCS for you.
EDIT: I don't know if this works beyond MY03 for certain. I think it works up to MY05, but have never seen anything on the AP2's. I know in the USDM Honda changed the OBDII protocol from ISO-9141 to Extended CAN for the MY06. They seem to have changed quite a bit in 06, so I don't know what options anyone with a newer model year would have.
In context:
If you have an ABS, SRS, EPS DTC it can not only be retrieved using the jumper "blinky" trick, they can also be cleared. With the exception of an SRS DTC which is cleared via MES connector. Basically anywhere in the helms manual where it say's to use PGM Tester SCS method it say's to connect the PGM-Tester and use it to jump the SCS to ground, well when you do the jumper "blinky" trick you are jumping PIN9 (the SCS wire brown) to a ground PIN4. Page 17-21, I try to perform that procedure (torque sensor learning) but once again I can't perform that procedure without clearing the codes from the EPS memory. I paper clip 4 to 9 and all that happens is the EPS light blinks code 14, need to clear that before it will let me perform the torque sensor learning on page 17-21.
