Default Few 08 questions?

hi first one and most important should the clutch be slipping at all on an 08 reg car! This only happens when i change hard into 2nd gear on vtec and then into 3rd again yesteray. If i get it in gear first then foot down things are fine but when in a rush i have done it a few times now. Dont remeber my old x reg one doing that!??

2nd one is when i move the heater controls if i select feet/screen air con automatically switches it self on this is everytime but only on the selected feet/screen one lol? anoying but is it normal?

3rd can you buy indution kist for the 08 cars i see things listed up to 05. Are they the same or different

Thats it for now

On a full throttle gear change, I think you can get some slip maybe? I vaguely remember reading somthing about it having somthing that stops you bringing the clutch in too hard, in order to preserve the diff.

2nd point, air con coming on is normal.

The induction kits are no different for 06+ there is just a few minor changes that you need to account for with the rubber tubes, I think there is one less. Although I think you would probably lose a wee bit of power. Air con is entirely normal. Clutch slippage, hard to say without knowing what you're doing but I've never noticed it on the 06 and that's the same kit.

Yes, if you get too much power behind the flywheel (eg 6K plus revs) before engaging the clutch then it does slip on a change up to 2nd or 3rd. The car can't change speed that fast and the clutch cant slow the engine so it slips. Easily sorted with a slight technique improvement - need to be smoother.

The AC thing is normal as said - but if you hate it you can change the default to off - do a search for how.

If your thinking about the K&N FIPK, it can be successfully fitted to a post 06 model. I'm thinking about it and others have done it.

Welcome and enjoy your purchase!

Clutch delay valve may be causing the slippage on hard gear changes. I have the same feeling on mine - kind of a "floaty" feeling until everything comes together properly. There is info on here somewhere showing how to remove the CDV to stop this happening.

There is a clutch delay valve (CDV), but don't think that would help in this instance. Theres just too much of a speed differential between the clutch plates and neither side wants to loose the fight.....

Yep, I had one. It's really very easy.

Don't expect anything other than a change in noise, sounds fantastic! There might be a small change in power but it wont be positive .

That is the CDV, mine used to do it until I took it out, completely perfect now no matter how hard you change, plus the clutch feels a bit nicer without the valve in.

I had problems with my clutch at 12,000 miles (I think it was).

Ended up having it replaced under warranty as it got worse and worse.

Keep an eye out for it getting worse. If it does, get it into Honda asap and when they say "we don't cover clutches under warranty because of track days etc.", point out the mileage and tell them it's never been tracked (assuming that's the case).
