My S2K does NOT like its garage-mate. What should I get???
Hi gang,
I have an interesting dilemma:
I'm on my second S2000. Along side my old S2000, we used to have a sweet sweet wonderful '91 NSX Coupe (Red/Blk). I sold it about a year and a half ago and got a 996C2 loaded (due to some peer pressure).
I'm almost embarrassed to admit this in public, but I hate the Porsche. It's way wayyyyyy too refined for my taste. The first month we got it, my wife and I took it up to Gingerman Raceway to watch the Porsche Club run there. We left really late Friday night. My wife fell asleep after the first 10 minutes of driving and didn't wake up until we got to the hotel. That's almost 3 hours later!!! NOT my definition of a pure sports car at all.
Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful, incredibly well-engineered machine. But it's not for me. There are way too many weird things about it that are not right. The seat cushions are flat and huge and provide as much support as to fling my relatively skinny bottom from one end to the other upon hard cornering. The controls are downright GERMAN!!! e.g. The thing has four integrated cassette holders, but does not have a cassette player!!! The front black center piece under the front nose if discoloring eventhough the car is garage-parker and has only been driven 3500 miles in the last year.
So I need your help on what I should replace it with. My short list is in the poll above. I'm looking at staying in the low $60K range. I'm looking for something slightly-less civilized than my current 996. Please give me some suggestions. Thanks. -KM.

I like the Viper with its Lemans win history. I heard the roar of a black Viper when I was in Houston on business a few years ago. I'll never forget that night. I would love to have a Viper someday. Here are a few places with some.

I would seriously consider the viper (especially if you want to get rid of some civility). Mike Buker should still be working at Fitzgerald Motorsports in northern NH, and he is a friend that I have bought a few cars from in the past. I prefer the hard top coupe.

get the viper!!! I have a 2002 gts coupe. Its yellow with black stripes. Its a very dangerous car to drive if you dont know what your doing. Its very impolite. It controls you, you dont control it. And, its very unforgiving on turns! Its a very fun car to drive in the weekends, but dont expect to drive it somewhere and park it. It gets way to much attention, and you will start to worry about it. Also, the noise of the engine drives me crazy!
