How far out in the middle of no where? Personally, I would call AAA and sign up today. Have the car towed home.

But...there are cars out there that are designed to "shut down" a couple of cyl while cruising at highway speeds to save gasoline. I'm not sure if they make any modifications to make it safe to do that.

Thanks for the input. My wife is always there when I need her!

Since the tow was $600 with my AAA and no one I knew was able to lend me a coil pack, I unplugged the injector and coil pack and limped her home on 3 cylinders.

have no Idea why my coil pack melted....and the spark plug was toast as well.
Ill do some searching but Im sure others have had this happen.

probably your plug worked itself loose and fried the coil pack.

I drove from LA to sacramento w/ a bad coilpack. coilpack went bad when I was in LA on a sunday of all days. I always keep 2 spares in the trunk now.

I think you should be okay as long as you didn't VTEC it.

you can sign up and get the 7 mile tow but you ahve to wait like 2 weeks to get the 100 mile tow that comes with the upgraded package.

If that did happen, the plug may have ovaled out the plug hole. I had that happen on a Miata I used to own. Even when I properly torqued the new plug, it would back out quickly. I finally had to helicoil a new set of steel threads into the head.

The plug never came loose. But the sparkplug was fried for sure. Ill take some pics and post them asap. It happened to the front coil pack, cylinder 1 I think it is.

When I used to be turbo, I removed the factory cooling plate for my charge pipes. So as of now, I have no cooling plate.

PICS
The pic of the engine isnt the cylinder that went bad. I just put in new plugs and left that cylinder "unpluged"

Is it electrical, or did the cylinder heat do it? i don't think there is any voltage in that area.
