Default CALIFORNIA HERE I COME! PLZ HELP!

Greetings fellow s2k owners,

I've decided to drive my precious little S from Tulsa, OK to ?, CA. I have a few connections in SoCal for room/board, directions, etc. But for the most part I'm gonna be trying not to get lost! My main objective, provided funds don't run dry, is to cruise the PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY. I feel that this is a zen-ful experience, especially during dusk! IF ANYONE has any recommendations or info for me about PCH, SoCal, or would be interested in meeting up I'd be more than thrilled. I'd really like to experience the CALIFORNIA IMPORT culture! lol (nerd)
Thanks and see you all on the road soon!

Josh

First off, welcome to California! I'm sure you'll love your experience here. Cruising PCH isn't as "peaceful" as it may look/sound, but there are some definite spots where it is relaxing, especially late at night. I haven't gone all the way up using PCH, but there are only a few times where you can actually see the beach. Other than that, there is a TON of traffic, the speed limit is very slow, and can be frustrating. (I don't mean to rain on your parade but I don't want you to have this glorious vision in your mind only to be let down because it wasn't everything you expected it to be...just giving you a heads up!)

As for meeting up, I'm sure you'll be able to attend some of the local/traditional meets that we have going on if you actually do plan on staying a long time. Theres a ton that goes on around here, especially Cars and Coffee (which happens every weekend where a few of us on the board go to regularly).

Just my .02

Well, as unfortunate as the news is, I AM seeking the reality here. So, since you say that PCH isn't what it's all cracked up to be do you have any other recommnded highways or roads that are good for cruising. I hate to be clich

There are MANY great roads in SoCal, and don't let these posts change your mind on PCH either. PCH or highway 1 is fantastic, you just have to take an overniter and drive North up to Monterey or central California out of the LA area, its one of the best roads in the country.

Monterey FTW !
